44% of men and 37% of women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.* This means, more than likely, someone you love and care for will get this. In fact, you could even be the one sitting on the doctor’s table. There’s much to write about as it relates to cancer; the fight, the cause and the cure. I could spend weeks just writing on the cause, many weeks and many tears more writing about the fight. Cancer is one of those “I can’t believe it happened to ME” diseases that many learn is a lonely and painful process. If you already have a suppressed immune system, your chances are greater of being diagnosed. Our body creates cells, and if those cells are retarded in some fashion, it is our bodie’s duty to kill them so that the bad cells can not replicate. Pretty simple right? But, what if your system doesn’t catch those bad cells in time? Well, they continue to grow and mature and replicate and grow a nice little home (tumor) somewhere in your body. But your body would need to be producing a lot of bad cells in order to create a tumor right? Wrong. Bad cells replicate themselves at a faster rate than your healthy cells. What that means to you, is for every 5 good guys, you have another 10 bad guys. Drugs attempt to kill the cancer cells, and do; but the very basis of science tells us that this very action to the body has a reaction inside the body- and it’s not always positive. Did you know that 100 years ago breast cancer was basically unheard of? How is that possible? Why are more women getting breast cancer? Why are younger and younger women being diagnosed with it? What’s changed? The pink ribbon suppliers and cancer donation-takers don’t want to answer those questions. Nor do they want to answer what percentage of funds goes to the actual care/research of cancer. Let’s face it, you buying a cute little pink bracelet or water bottle isn’t going to cure Sarah’s cancer. We all know that, but we’re afraid to do nothing at all, after all we “want to help”. Eat2Live serves a lot of women, and in keeping with that, Eat2Live always stresses taking care of YOU first. So, before we even get into (and we won’t) fundraising, medical costs, treatment options and the like, let’s talk about you. Eat2Live’s goal is to ensure that you are healthy and strong enough to handle whatever life throws at you- including cancer. I imagine that out of all our readers, a few of you will end up being diagnosed one day (statistically), so heed my words. What you put into your body is typically what you will get out of it. A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows evidence that the use of antibiotics is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Yet, when you see your doctor for a viral infection he/she prescribes you an anti-bacterial. The more antibiotics that you take over a lifetime, the higher the risk of breast cancer. Why are we being given drugs that we don’t need? Think about how many antibiotics you’ve taken over the last, let’s say 17 years or so, until now. (Go ahead and take your time, I’ll wait…)
Now, let’s think about the vaccinations, the antibiotics in the animal feed, even the very chemicals that the government puts in your tap water (fluoride for most of us, lead if you’re in Flint Michigan). The American diet itself is a major cause for concern. We are organic beings. We absorb what we put in and on our bodies. The perfume you just sprayed on your neck was reabsorbed into your blood stream within 26 seconds. Do you even know WHAT exactly was absorbed? The food producer’s job is to make sure that you buy MORE of their products, and will tell the public what they want to hear in order to make that happen. Cheerios may be gluten free, but they are still over spraying their crops to dangerous levels with Monsanto chemicals that have been banned in just about every other country in the world. The ingredients in Kraft Mac & Cheese are banned in most other countries, yet it is served in our public schools and we pay for it willingly. So, imagine if you will, a nutrient-deficient diet, leading to chronic illness and over medication. This is what has changed over the last 100 years. We must stop asking questions like “How much can I lose in a week?” and START asking deeper, bigger questions. Watch this video for more detailed information on fighting cancer with nutrition. As always, contact us directly HERE for more questions and more in-depth information.

And What Causes Such Hatred for the Healthy, The Planet Savers and the Animal Lovers? These idiots. (it may not play here- it's okay my lazy friend, click on "Play on YouTube") Admit it. We've all met these people. Meanwhile, you're the poor sap just trying to do the right thing but it never really works out as planned... Hey, at least you can laugh about it, right? You Think The Only Way Out Is Some Institutional Nightmare Just because you THINK you need a lobotomy to quit pasta, doesn't mean it's true... but where else do these healthy hipsters come from? It's not about Pasta. It's not about Soda or Sweet Tea or Chocolate. No, you won't turn into some spineless jelly fish with a progressive brain and no common sense. Yes, you'll feel better. No, it won't be easy. But stop being overly serious. Stop worrying so much. Stop being afraid of what you don't know. Stop hesitating on what you know you need to do. Excuses come in every shape and color, but what they all have in common is fear. Fear of Failure. Fear of the unknown. Fear of success. It can come in the form of comedy, of bitterness, procrastination, excuses, satire or ignorance, but it all boils down to your fear of change. Start by laughing more. Realize your not the only one. And be open to the possibility that you may actually lose weigh this time. Grasp the fact that maybe, just maybe, you don't have to take all those pills anymore. And maybe, theres a small hope that you can feel joy again. Start telling yourself it IS possible, believe it, but then... calm down and don't take everything so seriously: Life is meant to be lived.
The pharmaceutical companies and their advertisers and benefactors would love for you to believe that if you have a problem, you can just walk right into their office and walk out all better.
At every turn, you are told to consult with your doctor, talk to your physician or ask your doctor if it's right for you. But the reality is that people all across this country are underinsured or have no insurance at all. Those on government assistance are at the mercy of the government. Veterans are dying while waiting to be seen. Low income earners have no insurance or are drastically underinsured. Then, you have your middle class who can afford the insurance, but usually not much else. Most co-pays range from $25-$100 depending on the type of physician, not including anything other than saying hello and shaking hands. If you want more information than just your blood pressure and weight, then you will be taking tests which come with their own expenses. You have to return to the physician to get the test results, which will be another co-pay. Those tests may require more tests, or the physician will recommend a pharmaceutical drug. They will tell you, in this order; what it is, how long it's been out, how their patients like it, features and benefits. They will then ask you whether you'd like to try it. After agreeing, they will give you the fine print, if you have a good doctor, and most likely, your prescription will also have a fee. The doctor will tell you to return in 30-60 days to “see how it's working for you” and to come back in the mean time of you need anything else. There's another co-pay you'll need to pay in 30-60 days. If you do this only 2-3 times per year, you may not see horror in this cycle; but for the chronically ill it is a way of life.
Those with life long diseases aren't like those happy people in the commercials who took Lyrica. The chronically ill don't look relaxed and at peace after taking Lunesta or Ambien.
They don't have the luxury of just walking in to see Dr. Smith and getting a magic pill to cure their ills. Yet, that is what the medical and pharmaceutical companies tell us will happen. The truth is that the costs associated with being sick usually outweigh the insurance premiums; meaning the total expense for health coverage has now doubled. People go hungry, get their phones cut off, and go without, in order to see their doctor to get a pill that won't help them. And yet we keep going back! You aren't better. You’re broke and yet, like a Guinea pig, you and the rest of the American public keeps trying one chemical after another to cure something that was generally CAUSED by chemicals. It's like going back to a drug dealer for crack in order to get off of heroin. And people are dying. People are suffering silently with no voice and no options, while the pharmaceutical industry and insurance companies are raking in millions.
But the real problem that is never addressed is the mindset caused in every-day Americans. If they fall prey to an illness, visit the doctor, get a pill, and do all that they were told to do and STILL aren't better, then they think it's a failure on their part. They try more medications, different tests, other doctors, more pills and yet after thousands of dollars are spent, rarely is the outcome what is portrayed in those catchy tv ads.
Patients are left worse off than they started, with less money in their pockets and less faith in the medical community. The very oath that doctors promise to uphold states that “food should be the medicine and medicine thy food.” Yet, it is grossly overlooked by mainstream doctors at the sad disadvantage of millions of patients around the country. The Veteran’s Administration is happy to prescribe pill after pill after pill, but refuses to actually HELP our vets. It's a societal ill that is perpetuated by advertisers, the news media, and our very own doctors. Patients around the county have heard “…if that medication doesn't work, we’ll just keep trying until we find one.”
Is that the purpose of our medical professionals? Surely all would deny it goes on except for the people who undergo it. Many of the pharmaceutical ads on television tell you upfront that their product may cause heart failure, rectal bleeding, cancer, and death why the FDA allows these drugs, these poisons to be sold to the public and pushed by the doctors.
How many of us have seen the medical vendors in the doctor’s offices? Usually, they are providing some free product like stress balls, cookies, pens, or candy and, of course free trials of new drugs to give to their patients. It must be clearly understood that there is no one-pill solution for any health issue. Just by the very definition of science, a foreign substance is entering the body; a non-organic material. Remember, that for every action there will be a reaction and there will be consequences of doing such. Those who are pursuing a healthy lifestyle must first get out of this mindset. It's not one small thing that you must change. You have to change your life. You can't stop drinking soda, do nothing else, and expect change. You can't walk 3x a week and expect to lose weight if you don't address what's causing the weight. Birthing a life is creating a blank pallet. Recreating a life is sifting and moving and rearranging hats already there. It's building upon years of victory and hurts, life lessons and growth opportunities. You have to change your mind before you can ever change your body. The pharmaceutical industry will never tell you that. They would rather you try their next latest and greatest drug to cure what their last one caused. Get out of the cycle and move towards a more meaningful and healthy life by working with your body instead of against it. Don't be a sheep to the slaughter. Be the free eagle you were meant to be. |
