How to cure inflammation without medication

Inflammation is one of the easiest issues to resolve

Sore muscles, swollen feet and faces, and lots of belly discomfort are common complaints of people I talk to. But inflammation is so much more than what you can see. 80% of our immune system is in our gut, and if it becomes inflamed due to poor diet or illness, then you will eventually have wide spread inflammation. Most people with joint pain don't realize that it's due to inflammation. If you suffer from chronic headaches or migraines, then yes, you're right, it does feel like your head is about to pop off- that's called inflammation. Whether you're retaining water or have constant neck pain and joint pain, you're probably suffering from inflammation. Let's discuss how to correct it and prevent it. Easily. Naturally. Long Term.

"You're getting on my last nerve!"

Your nerves play a huge role in your overall health, and even your emotional reaction to various stimuli. Pain happens when your nerve endings get irritated or rubbed against too much from swelling tissue and tensed muscles that press on the surrounding nerves.
It just rubbed me the wrong way and got on my nerves!"
If you're suffering from inflammation, more than likely you are also in pain. Pain leads to more pain, depression and a greater sensitivity. Taking a pill, or several pills a day, may bring some relief, but Eat2Live believes they do more damage than good. More importantly, pain relievers do NOTHING to resolve the real problem at hand, only masking it for a short period. By eating a clean diet, you can not only stop the inflammation, but you can reverse the symptoms of it.

Take a look at these images and ask yourself, " Am I eating these?"

Turmeric

Turmeric is a hardy little root you can find at most grocery stores. It's cheap and effective. You can buy a root the size of your thumb and just slice small portions. As with all things Eat2Live, we highly recommend using the real raw plant instead of a pill or powder. (Not mention it costs less)
Turmeric has been used traditionally for inflammation and allergies, due in part to its antioxidant activity. It stimulates bowl movements and protects your liver.

How does it taste?

Turmeric root tastes like a spicy carrot! Trust me, it only takes a little!"
Eat2Live recommends either adding a very thin slice (imagine 2 quarters width) into either your smoothie or your juice. If you are doing neither of those on a regular basis, we recommend you start, but if that isn't an option, then you can always buy the powdered version or in pill format.

Peppermint Oil

Taking peppermint oil in pill format is one of the easiest ways you can help with inflammation, but also heal illnesses like IBS, Crohn's and other GI problems. Peppermint oil, when packaged properly, doesn't release until it reaches your intestines, meaning you receive the full healing powers directly at the source. Most health food stores should carry it and generally is under $20 for a months supply.

Ginger

In 1992 a study was performed where patients suffering from muscle pain, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis were given ginger. 75% said that ginger provided substantial relief. Best of all, no one experienced side effects. Recommended dose is usually between 500-1,000 milligrams a day, however you can take more to see faster results.
Ginger is to be used exactly like Turmeric.

Here's a great video going over even more options for healing inflammation.
