Half of marriages fail and end in divorce. 50% of businesses fail, and 75% of startups fail. About 80% of people who lose weight will gain it back. The majority of companies fire or lose their employees after 4 years. “In 2017, there will be an estimated 1,688,780 new cancer cases diagnosed and 600,920 cancer deaths in the US”, quotes the American Cancer Society. As of 2012, over half the population has a chronic illness. Wages are stagnant, our cost of living increasing, with the odds ever against you. How are you supposed to succeed if failure and rejection surround you, filling your life with no’s, with isolation, and fear? Knowing the odds are against you from the start nearly persuades you to never try, and perhaps for many, it is a way of life. Shrugging along, doing as they are told and behaving. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of folks so that. So what makes the difference between success and failure? If not heath, access, and training, then what? I studied the most successful individuals of our time and came to one single conclusion: they are all delusional. Fail More Than WinSuccessful people weren’t always successful. In fact, they were all failures. The only reason you only see the success is because each time they failed, they tried again. And again. And again. Successful people don’t quit. Take a look at Oprah. She’s failed more than you’ve ever tried. In fact, if you asked her, I’m certain she would agree that if one was to look at statistics, it would show her failures far outnumber her successes. Not very motivating is it? Can you even imagine being sidelined over and over and over? How did she do it? She was delusional, and not in the crazy way you think of with ticks and teeth chattering crazy- but delusional in the sense that the she didn’t allow the reality to deter from the dream. Stubborn“Linda Lou you are so hard headed!” my mother would shout at me in the kitchen when I was a teenager. She was right. I was and still am stubborn. Successful people use this attribute to help them give the finger to rejection, add a little pinch of delusional and these people don’t quit! They live in the future, head down, moving forward at a constant pace with a clear goal in mind. Every no, every failure, feeds their stubborn nature to push through. Every “you can’t do that” becomes a “watch me”. BelieveSuccessful people were once failures who believed. They were able to see the world’s statistics against them and still dream. Failure. Loss. Exhaustion. All worthy costs for the fare to where they wanted to go. Why? Because they believed in their dream and themselves, even in failure. Most successful people feel that what they are doing is bigger than them, or their ordinary lives. They believe. PerceptionIf we see the world in statistics and measure our steps, we’ll never experience life. But it’s wholly your choice what you see when you open your minds eye to the world. It is your choice what you allow in, and what you dispel. Successful people are hard fast set on their goal. They have purpose, and failure is but a price to pay on the way. But instead of the sour statistics of their likely failure, they stubbornly believe and persevere , with failure, through rejection, because they perceive the world and their role in it differently. They live in the future and work in the now. Your StatisticsI know something about you, something that you may not even know. While only 15% of people in America say they are “millionaires”, you bested 100 million other sperm to create life. You already won! You won the grand prize, you’re here, you made it. Anything you do from here is just an extension of that success. If you want to continue being successful, you need to fail, maybe many times, maybe hundreds. You’ll need to shoulder rejection, but not carry it around. (it gets heavy) You’ll need to be slightly delusional to create your own happiness, and stubborn in your purpose to continue. I know you’re tired. You took 7,363,289 breathes of God given air last year, and cried between 17 (men) and 64 (ladies) times last year alone. You’re already successful, you just need to believe it. That my friend, is the delusional secret to success.
