Que the scene: It’s about 7am, the early morning sun is draping in through the windows onto your white satin sheets, with you in them, tucked in tightly. You awakw to the sounds and shuffles of your children brushing teeth and getting dressed. As you rise and throw on your cloth robe and slippers, the deep rich aroma of coffee hits your nostrils. The husband must have made coffee, because he loves you. Making your way down the spotless spiral staircase, you see your loving overly handsome husband in his work suit and a cup of coffee with the perfect amount of froth on top…and on the counter you see the Coffee Brand X and its creamer and you smile….

Que reality: It’s about 6am and its still dark outside, and the blankets are on the floor.  After rolling over and checking Facebook and the news you drag your flabby self up and into the bathroom, in the background sounds of the kids fighting over who’s turn it is to do the dishes. You grab whatever isn’t dirty and make your way past the mine fields of legos, dog toys and random articles of clothing. The husband is throwing a bagel in his mouth and tells you there’s still some hot coffee on the pot as he runs out the door.

So if the advertising associated with said products aren’t true to life... doesn’t that set a precedence for their product quality also?
So if the advertising associated with said products aren’t true to life... doesn’t that set a precedence for their product quality also? Instead of Folgers in your cup with blue birds singing, your drinking poison. And you’re doing it every single day, just like millions of other American’s.
But it’s just coffee right?
Wrong.

According to Statisticbrain.com, 62% of coffee drinkers use creamer…. If your one of that 62%, keep reading. And if you’re not, keep reading anyway and learn something!

Annual creamer sales top 3 billion. 3 billion with CoffeeMate owning the majority, with International Delight a far second.

Below are links to sites covering each ingredient in depth, then, lets put it all together in YOUR daily life.
  • Palm Oil- destroys our rain forests, not easily digested- causes muscle pain
  • Corn Syrup- highly refined sugar syrup, addictive, feeds inflammation and headaches
  • Sodium Caseinate- isolated milk protein causing gastrointestinal problems
  • Dipotassium Phosphate- thickening agent, creates negative neuro responses
  • Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate- creates an immune response such as swelling, mucus
  • Carrageenan- preservative, neurotoxic chemical depletes your oxygen

Some people I have worked with are so sensitive to these poisons they complain of headaches, muscle and neck pain, and overall pain within minutes of consuming. Granted the majority of American’s wont experience symptoms, which really is a faux; because whether you feel it or not, there are negative impacts on your body. Most creamers contain a litany of known toxic ingredients. And Sherlock, have you figured out what it hasn’t got?
Cream.
Okay, so you’re off the flavored creamer band wagon. I’ve ruined it for you. Well, have no fear reading friends… I’m going to further disappointment you. You might be saying to yourself, "I'll just take my sassy self to the store and buy some Half & Half" but….
Nearly all conventional Half & Half is loaded with Mono and Diglycerides. Don't take MY word for it, go look at the label.
People with auto immune related diseases typically experience head, neck and muscle pain after consuming diglycerides, but the symptoms are exasperated when mixed with caffeine on an empty stomach.
Coffees with a higher caffeine content mixed with these toxins can sometimes cause experiences such as shakiness and the “jitters” which is an unhealthy high by any stretch of the imagination.

Monoglycerides and diglycerides
Monoglycerides and diglycerides are food additives commonly used to combine ingredients containing fats with those containing water, two types of ingredients that don't ordinarily combine well. Food manufacturers typically use them to extend a product's shelf life. Made in part of fatty acids, they are similar to triglycerides, the predominant fat in food according to the Harvard School of Public Health, except they are classified as emulsifiers rather than lipids. -
Trans fats from animal, vegetable, or man-made sources can increase the risk for numerous diseases.
According to registered dietitian Mary Beth Sodus of the University of Maryland Medial Center, trans fats have been associated with increased risk of numerous diseases, including heart disease, stroke and diabetes. They promote inflammation and obesity; raise LDL, or bad, cholesterol levels; and lower HDL, or good, cholesterol levels. Made up in part of fatty acids, mono- and diglycerides may contain trans fats, either when manufactured in a lab or, if they come from an animal or vegetable source, when exposed to heat for processing into packaged and prepared foods.”

Still want that cup of Joe? Eat2Live2Love has an easy remedy for this commonly asked question.
  1. Buy unflavored, organic coffee (more on that in another story)
  2. Reduce your sugar intake a little per cup until you require no sugar
  3. READ THE LABEL on your creamer of choice. Eat2Live2Love refers all it’s members to try Organic Valley Half & Half or, for a richer cream (and more fattening) try Organic Valley Heavy Whipping Cream. Neither of these have mono and diglycerides. Just milk and cream from grass fed cows and can easily be found at most grocery stores.
Que the scene: You are an empowered individual who understands the value of knowledge. You’re not fooled by cheap marketing tricks and when YOUR feet hit the floor each morning your ready to heal instead of hurt. And soon enough this scene WILL be your reality…. One small step for you, one small sip for mankind.
