The TOP 5 EXCUSES YOU CAN'T MAKE IN 2016

12/28/2015

In the next 2 weeks you’ll be bombarded by cheesy ads for making “THIS year, YOUR year” “Lose 30lbs by Valentines” or “How to quit smoking fast” and my personal favorites, all the fitness ads.
First they fill you up with food, then"try" to help you lose the weight again. It’s like going to the bar keeper to help you quit drinking.

So without further ado, here are the Top 5 Excuses I hear when people want to change their lives.
2015 in the past and 2016 in the future… the best way to win the battle over your mind is to know what to expect and prepare for it.

1. " I never keep my resolutions anyway"

Picture
Of course you never keep your resolutions! I couldn’t either if that was my line of thinking. The very definition of change means doing something different. You’ve always gotten the same outcome because you start and end at the same place every time.
DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Don’t just make half ass resolutions because everyone else is. Don’t do it to please others or because you feel guilty over eating too much and your cousin Cindy looking better than you.
Do it because you WANT to, nay, NEED TO. What do you need in your life badly enough that your willing to fight for it? Lose sleep over it? Give of your time and your money for it? What is worth that to you? Any resolution you make less than that, will fail by default because YOU never really waned it.

You never keep your resolutions because you:
Didn’t truly want it in the first place                 Lacked the education
No self commitment/discipline                        You had no support
Step 1. Find out what you really need.

2. " I like eating way too much to diet"

Every body wants to lose weight. Everyone wants to know that mysterious secret to how Angela down the street never gains a damn pound. Everyone wants the energy. Everyone wants the drive. Everyone wants. Everybody wants.I want to be in a giant real life Willy Wonka factory and would love to strip nude and swim in the chocolate river, followed up with eating every gummy and eatable teacup and plate my eyes can find. Sure. But like children, we do not think of the reaction to our actions.
You may want to slam the driver in front of you going 20mph in a 45; but you don’t because you think of the reaction. The reaction is far worse than your action. Hence your fear of loss is greater than your fear of gain.
You want to hit Bad Driver Goober on his cell phone, but you know if you do, you’ll be in jail and that outcome is worse than the satisfaction you’ll feel. See where I’m going with this?
The same voice of sanity that goes off in your head there, needs to sound off with your food choices.

Who said you can’t eat? Pound per pound, I eat 2x as much food as the Average American, yet I’m not obese as most of America is. Don’t allow ignorance to become your excuse. You and I both know you could eat more of the good stuff and less of the bad. But it’s a matter of will. It falls back to “how badly do you want it?”. Are you willing to suffer, to change, to learn, in order to grow into who you want to become?Women give up smoking for the baby in their womb, they suffer the withdrawls, and do so willingly and with commitment- because their love for their child exceeds their love of smoking. Your love of your body needs to exceed your love of breads or sugar. Be your own hero.
You say you like eating too much because                             You are scared to fail, or fail again
Your afraid to admit you lack the discipline                           You don’t know how to start, or where
You don’t have on going support after the inspiration ends

3. "I don't have time to change everything around"

Picture
I hear this more often than not. People have a false sense of what is required for inner change because they base it on what advertisers sell them. American’s believe in what I refer to as a “one pill Solution”. Headache? Take a pill. Lose Weight? Drink this shake. Depressed? Take these pills. Can’t sleep? Drink this.
And if the real world worked like that, you’re right, we DON’T have time for all that.
But that’s only how the marketing companies what you to think. You are a created customer of the pharmaceutical industry.

What you don’t have time for are symptoms of a greater problem. Stop chasing the symptoms and get to the core. Change THAT and you change everything.
Change your self belief, change your thinking.                  Change your thinking, change your actions.
Change your actions, you change your life. It all starts with believing in yourself.

4. "I don't have the money to change everything and buy a bunch of stuff"

Picture
Hey! Guess what? Most American’s have less than $1,000 in savings… so most of us don’t have the money to change everything around.
But who again told you that you had to?......Or was that just an assumption you made?
Waiting until we are ready means we will never be ready. Your desire for change needs to exceed your fear of it. You do not need to spend an excess amount of money in order to eat healthy. Anyone who tells you that is selling you something. You are going to spend money anyway on food. And you will be for the rest of your life. That will never ever change. It’s a fixed cost of being a human.

So let’s think about how much that box of cheerio’s cost you…. $3.69 in Florida. That could buy a box of organic oatmeal. Same cost, WAY better benefits. Add up your cost on flavored drinks, teas etc. And yes, I hear you screaming “oh hell no she’s not taking away my sweet tea!”
No, I’m not. Just add up the cost. And let that sink in. Your buying sugar water and chemicals which cause you to get sick and gain weight all for the pleasure of taste on the tongue? American’s need Coke and Pepsi like a crack addict needs its next fix.
But I NEED it”.
No. You don't need it. Your fat needs it. Fight back friends.
You think it will cost more money because:
You are afraid to look at what you’re really doing, you’re comfortable
Lack of education           No Support

5. "Ya but, you don't know MY situation"

Picture
And here my dear reader, you are 100% I do not know your situation. Only you do. Only you know what it will take to achieve that dream you have. You know the hard work it will require. You immediately think of everything you’ll have to undergo to achieve it and you feel overwhelmed.
Then, every single time, you stand back and take inventory of yourself. And the hate talk begins. “Remember last year? You did it for like a week, you really think you’ll do it this time?”
“Look how fat you are. You got like 100lbs to lose, you’ve tried 100 times and failed every time”
“Every diet you try fails anyway, none of this shit works so why even bother?”
“You know your doctor said you’ll never be like before, stop trying”

These heart breaking thoughts will keep going through your head, but only YOU have the power to change that. You have the power to start believing it before you ever see it. Love yourself enough to fight back against these. Love yourself to look in the mirror and SAY IT to yourself “I love you”. And let those voices come. This is your battle and your fight and YOU only you have the ability to fight it and win.
It’s easy to let advertisers tell you what you want to hear, that it will be easy and quick- but they are lying.  It’s easy to think a pill will fix you- but it won’t. It’s easy to look out the window in search of a hero to break in ad save us from our ails- but they will never come.

2016 isn't the year of resolutions
It's the year of the Fighter

The year we break free from the lies we tell ourselves, the comfort zones we build around ourselves, and we find our courage to grow into who we NEED to become.
