If you’ve read my articles “What is juicing” and “I bought a juicer, now what?” then you’re ready to go on your first shopping trip to pick up your first week of juicing ingredients! But where do we start? 1. Decide How Often You'd Like to JuiceIf you are healing from disease or trying to lose weight, I recommend juicing 2x a day; once in the morning, and once in the evening. Sound extreme? The Gerson Therapy, which has been around for nearly 80 years, recommends patients drink between 15-20lbs of fresh raw juice a day, breaking it up to 1 cup every hour, for a maximum of 13 hours. With that being said, I think you can conquer two a day. 2. Decide What Recipes To Use In The BeginningIt’s hard enough learning where the ginger is in the produce section, let alone trying to remember 45 different recipes. You can surely make this a difficult lifestyle if you want; but I’m here to make it an easier one for you. Remember that juicing will not only provide your body with living nutrients, but help reverse or alleviate a lot of health issues and detoxify your body. Most of my Members prefer to start off with sweeter juices to acquire a taste, then slowly go greener as they can tolerate it. Assuming that you don’t have any allergies, there are two staple juices everyone should learn and use. If you’re not sure what to start shoving down your juicer shoot, these two recipes are perfect for beginners. 3. The more you can prep at one time, the faster juicing will go on a daily basis helping to enrich your blood, promote energy and reduce symptoms from Fibromyalgia, CFS, and IBS (within as easily as a few days). 5. Creating The HabitJuicing won’t work for you if you only do it every now and again. It must be a part of your day to day life when you’re healing…unless you intend on eating all those veggies? Creating a juicing habit is about two things: time and discipline; well, so are most things when you think about it… Decide in advance what times of day will be easiest for you to juice, then stick with it! It's amazing to me how the small, mundane parts of my life meld into the epiphanies that change my life. Over the years I've watched Mika Brzezinski as the cohost of Morning Joe along with the other talking heads that parade on and off of news shows.
In the early years of the show, Mika always seemed impatient or angry, short tempered or like someone put lemons in her coffee.
Then, after a few years, she seemed to mellow out and I took this to mean I'd been watching too much liberal TV. But then it became clear she was just happy, at peace somehow, and I could tell the difference because well, I'm a woman and we know these things. But after the shower is over and my day starts, I never gave it more thought. Just another useless inner conversation at 6:30a.m while naked in my bathroom.

That night, after the dishes were clean, and the kids in bed, I plopped down and opened the book, aiming to devour it's very pages. As a heavy reader I find that words are the ingredients of compositions writers create, that we can see, smell, and taste. It's art and Mika is certainly an artist. "Knowing Your Value" was a New York Times Bestseller and still is highly rated all over the world. The Atlantic.com says "A rallying cry for women to get the money they deserve."
And it is that, but so much more. Mika writes conversationally, honestly, and raw. You can feel yourself in her shoes, and go on a journey to understand her more deeply.
She tells her own story, which I won't ruin for you here, and then interviews women of all different statuses.
